Kennet & Avon Canal Race 2021
London to Bristol
23rd - 25th July
Centurion Richard McChesney was on his "travels" once again this weekend.
The race runs along canal towpaths, rivers and rail trails, with one “hill” descending 237 feet in two miles through 29 locks.
Leaving London at 6am on Friday morning Ricagrd joined 74 runners to take part in the race.
Richard said "It's a long way when you look at it on a map. Further when you walk it.
I spent Friday and Saturday walking the Kennet & Avon Canal 145 mile Race (KACR) | London - Bristol with 74 others (39 finishers).
I finished 25th in 39 hours 13 minutes. Not bad considering that other than Sandra Brown and myself, everyone else was running.
I'm now on the bus heading back to London. That trip will only take 2 hours"
Well done Richard.
Sandra's finishing time was 43 hours 55 hours in 34th place. This makes this the 208th 100 miler for Sandra. Well done Sandra!
